All the multitudes were amazed, and said,“ Can this be the son of David?”But when the Pharisees heard it, they said,“ This man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”

Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders, who had come against him,“ Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?When I was with you in the temple daily, you didn’t stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”

The Pharisees therefore said among themselves,“ See how you accomplish nothing. Behold, the world has gone after him.”
