耶穌的弟兄就對耶穌說：『你離開這裏，上猶太去吧，讓你的門徒在那裏也看看你所作的事啊。

耶穌還對那一羣人說話時，他母親和弟兄站在外邊，想法子要和他說話。

原來連他弟兄也不信他。）

耶穌的母親和弟兄來到耶穌那裏；因有羣眾、不能跟他相會。

但他的弟兄上去了以後，那時他也上去過節了，不是顯然地，卻是隱密地。

大衛對那些人說話的時候，他大哥以利押聽見了，就向大衛發怒，說：『你下來作甚麼？在曠野的那幾隻羊、你留交給誰呢？你擅自行事、和你心裏的惡意、我是知道的：你下來、無非是要看交戰罷了。』

因為連你的族弟兄和你父的家都以詭詐待你，連這些人都大聲追喊着你；他們雖向你說好話，你可不要信他們。』

耶穌的母親和弟兄來站在外邊，差人見他去叫他。

約瑟做了一個夢，告訴他的哥哥們，他們就更加恨他。約瑟對他們說：『請聽我所做的這個夢。我們在田間捆禾稼；我所捆的竟起來，並且立着；你們所捆的竟來圍着我所捆的下拜。』他的哥哥們對他說：『難道你真地要作王來統治我們麼？真地要管理我們麼？』他們就為了他的夢和他的話的緣故更加恨他。後來他又做了一個夢，也向他的哥哥們敘說了。他說：『我又做了一個夢，夢見日頭月亮和十一顆星、都向我下拜。』約瑟將這個夢向他父親和哥哥們敘說，他父親就叱責他說：『你做的這個夢是甚麼夢？難道我和你母親你弟兄都真地要來伏地、向你下拜？』他哥哥們都嫉妒他；他父親卻把這事記住。

來吧！我們將他殺了，丟在這麼一個坑裏，就說有惡獸把他喫了；且看他的夢要怎麼樣。』

便差遣他們的門徒同希律黨人來見耶穌，說：『先生，我們曉得你很真誠；你以真誠教授上帝的道路；甚麼人你都不在乎，因為你不看人的外貌。那麼請告訴我們，你以為怎樣；納丁稅給羅馬皇帝該撒可以不可以？』

但是彼得同那十一個人卻站着，提高了聲音，向他們發表言論說：『猶太人、和所有住耶路撒冷的人哪，這件事你們要知道，要側耳聽我的話。
