耶穌正在向人群講話，這時候他的母親和弟弟們站在外面，想要和他說話。

原來連他的弟弟們也不信他。

耶穌的母親和弟弟們來到他那裡，可是由於人多，不能靠近他。

不過當他的弟弟們上去過節以後，他也上去了，但沒有公開，像是悄悄去的。

大衛與那些人說話時，他的大哥以利押聽見了，以利押就對大衛發怒，說：「你為什麼下來這裡呢？你把曠野裡那些小羊交託給誰了？我知道你的狂傲和惡意，你下來就是為了看打仗！」

後來，耶穌的母親和弟弟們來了，站在外面，派人去叫耶穌。

約瑟做了一個夢，告訴了他的哥哥們，他們就更加恨他。約瑟對他們說：「你們聽聽我所做的這個夢：看哪，我們正在田間綁禾捆；看哪，我的禾捆起來立著，你們的禾捆都圍著我的禾捆下拜！」他的哥哥們就對他說：「難道你真要作我們的王，真要管轄我們嗎？」他們就因他的夢和他的話更加恨他。後來約瑟又做了另一個夢，也把這夢向哥哥們講述了。他說：「看哪，我又做了一個夢！看哪，太陽、月亮和十一顆星星都向我下拜！」約瑟把夢向父親和哥哥們講述了，父親就斥責他說：「你做的這是什麼夢呢？難道我和你母親、你哥哥們真要來俯伏於地，向你下拜嗎？」他的哥哥們都嫉妒他，他父親卻把這話存在心裡。

來吧！我們現在就把他殺了，丟在一個坑裡，然後說有惡獸把他吃掉了；我們倒要看看他的夢將來會怎樣！」

他們派了自己的門徒們與希律黨的人一同去見耶穌，說：「老師，我們知道你是真誠的，並且按真理教導神的道。你不顧忌任何人，因為你不看人的情面。請告訴我們，你認為向凱撒納稅，可以不可以呢？」

這時，彼得和其他十一個使徒一同站起來，高聲對眾人說：「各位猶太人和所有住在耶路撒冷的人哪，你們應當知道這件事，也應當仔細聽我的話，
