耶穌還在對群眾講話的時候，他的母親和弟弟站在外面，要找他講話。

原來連他的弟弟也不信他。

耶穌的母親和弟弟來到他那裡，因為人多，不能到他跟前。

然而，他的弟弟上去過節以後，他也上去過節，不是公開地去，卻是暗中地去。

大衛與那些人說話的時候，他的大哥以利押聽見了，就向大衛發怒，說：“你為甚麼下這裡來呢？在曠野的那幾隻羊你託了給誰呢？我知道你的驕傲和你心裡的惡意。你下來是要看打仗。”

因為連你的兄弟、你的父家，都以詭詐待你，連他們也在你後面高聲喊叫。雖然他們對你說好話，你也不可信他們。”

耶穌的母親和弟弟來了，站在外面，傳話給他，叫他出來。

約瑟作了一個夢，把夢告訴哥哥們，他們就越發恨他。約瑟對他們說：“請聽我所作的這個夢：我們正在田間捆麥子，我的麥捆忽然站立起來，你們的麥捆都來圍著我的下拜。”他的哥哥們對他說：“你真的要作我們的王嗎？真的要管轄我們嗎？”他們就為了約瑟的夢和他的話，越發恨他。後來約瑟又作了一個夢，也把夢向哥哥們述說了。他說：“我又作了一個夢，我夢見太陽、月亮和十一顆星向我下拜。”約瑟把夢向他父親和哥哥們述說了，他父親就斥責他，說：“你所作的這夢是甚麼夢呢？我和你母親，以及你的兄弟，真的要來俯伏在地向你下拜嗎？”他哥哥們都嫉妒他，他父親卻把這事記在心裡。

來吧，我們把他殺了，丟在一個枯井裡，就說有猛獸把他吃了。我們要看看他的夢將來要怎麼樣。”

他們派了自己的門徒和希律黨的人一同去問耶穌：“老師，我們知道你為人誠實，照著真理把神的道教導人，不顧忌任何人，因為你不徇情面。請把你的意見告訴我們，納稅給凱撒，可不可以呢？”

彼得和十一使徒站起來，他高聲對眾人說：“猶太人和所有住在耶路撒冷的人哪，你們應當明白這件事，也應該留心聽我的話。
