耶穌的弟弟們對祂說：「離開這裡，去猶太過節吧，好讓你的門徒在那裡也看見你所做的啊！

耶穌還在和眾人說話的時候，祂的母親和兄弟站在外面，想要跟祂說話。

原來連祂的弟弟們也不信祂。

這時，耶穌的母親和兄弟來找祂，由於人太多，他們無法靠近耶穌，

他們走了以後，耶穌避開了人們的注意，暗地裡上去過節。

大衛的長兄以利押聽見他跟人說話，就憤怒地對他說：「你來這裡做什麽？你把曠野的那幾隻羊交給誰了？我知道你驕傲自大，心懷惡意，你來只是想看打仗。」

你的弟兄和家人都背叛了你，與你作對。任他們甜言蜜語，你不要相信。

這時候，耶穌的母親和兄弟來了，他們站在外面，託人叫耶穌。

約瑟做了一個夢，並告訴了哥哥們，他們更恨他了。約瑟對哥哥們說：「你們聽聽我做的夢——我們在田裡捆莊稼，我捆的莊稼站起來，你們捆的莊稼都圍著我捆的莊稼下拜。」他的哥哥們回答說：「難道你真想做我們的王統治我們嗎？」他們因約瑟的夢和他說的話而更恨他。後來，約瑟又做了一個夢，他又去對哥哥們說：「你們聽聽我做的另一個夢，我夢見太陽、月亮和十一顆星星都向我下拜。」約瑟把夢告訴了父親和哥哥們，他父親就責備他說：「你做的是什麼夢！難道你的父母弟兄都要來向你俯伏下拜嗎？」約瑟的哥哥們嫉恨他，他父親卻把這些話記在心裡。

來吧！我們殺了他，把他扔在井裡，就說有野獸把他吃掉了，看他的夢怎麼實現。」

他們派了自己的門徒跟希律黨人一同去問耶穌：「老師，我們知道你誠實無偽，按真理傳上帝的道，你不徇情面，不以貌取人。那麼請告訴我們，納稅給凱撒對不對呢？」

彼得和其他十一位使徒都站起來，他大聲對眾人說：「各位猶太同胞和住在耶路撒冷的人啊，請留心聽！我告訴你們這是怎麼回事。
