The one who speaks for himself seeks his own glory. But He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.

Whoever speaks on their own does it to get personal honor. But someone who works for the honor of the one who sent him is truthful. Nothing about him is false.

The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.

Those who speak for themselves want glory only for themselves, but a person who seeks to honor the one who sent him speaks truth, not lies.

“ I do not accept glory from men,

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for God’s glory.Give no offense to the Jews or the Greeks or the church of God,just as I also try to please all people in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, so that they may be saved.

When Jesus heard it, He said,“ This sickness will not end in death but is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

“ I do not have a demon,” Jesus answered.“ On the contrary, I honor My Father and you dishonor Me.I do not seek My glory; the One who seeks it also judges.

Those who want to make a good impression in the flesh are the ones who would compel you to be circumcised— but only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.For even the circumcised don’t keep the law themselves; however, they want you to be circumcised in order to boast about your flesh.But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through the cross, and I to the world.

If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus,

“ Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, Your name be honored as holy.

So they came to John and told him,“ Rabbi, the One you testified about, and who was with you across the Jordan, is baptizing— and everyone is flocking to Him.”John responded,“ No one can receive a single thing unless it’s given to him from heaven.You yourselves can testify that I said,‘ I am not the Messiah, but I’ve been sent ahead of Him.’He who has the bride is the groom. But the groom’s friend, who stands by and listens for him, rejoices greatly at the groom’s voice. So this joy of mine is complete.He must increase, but I must decrease.”

Father, glorify Your name!” Then a voice came from heaven:“ I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again!”

When he had gone out, Jesus said,“ Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him.If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself and will glorify Him at once.

Now leave Me alone, so that My anger can burn against them and I can destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.”But Moses interceded with the Lord his God:“ Lord, why does Your anger burn against Your people You brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and a strong hand?Why should the Egyptians say,‘ He brought them out with an evil intent to kill them in the mountains and wipe them off the face of the earth’? Turn from Your great anger and relent concerning this disaster planned for Your people.Remember Your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Israel— You swore to them by Your very self and declared,‘ I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and will give your offspring all this land that I have promised, and they will inherit it forever.’”

and we didn’t seek glory from people, either from you or from others.

“ If I glorify Myself,” Jesus answered,“ My glory is nothing. My Father— you say about Him,‘ He is our God’— He is the One who glorifies Me.

But Moses asked him,“ Are you jealous on my account? If only all the Lord’s people were prophets and the Lord would place His Spirit on them!”

I have glorified You on the earth by completing the work You gave Me to do.Now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence with that glory I had with You before the world existed.

It is not good to eat too much honey or to seek glory after glory.
