Jesus went into the temple and threw out all those buying and selling. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves.

At dawn he went to the temple again, and all the people were coming to him. He sat down and began to teach them.

The Jewish Festival of Shelters was near.

After this, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him,“ See, you are well. Do not sin anymore, so that something worse doesn’t happen to you.”

“ You are to hold a sacred assembly on the fifteenth day of the seventh month; you do not do any daily work. You are to celebrate a seven-day festival for the LORD.Present a burnt offering, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD: thirteen young bulls, two rams, and fourteen male lambs a year old. They are to be unblemished.

“ See, I am going to send my messenger, and he will clear the way before me. Then the Lord you seek will suddenly come to his temple, the Messenger of the covenant you delight in— see, he is coming,” says the LORD of Armies.

“ On the second day present twelve young bulls, two rams, and fourteen male lambs a year old— all unblemished—

“ On the fourth day present ten bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs a year old— all unblemished—with their grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams, and lambs, in proportion to their number.Also offer one male goat as a sin offering. These are in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.“ On the fifth day present nine bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs a year old— all unblemished—with their grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams, and lambs, in proportion to their number.Also offer one male goat as a sin offering. These are in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.“ On the sixth day present eight bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs a year old— all unblemished—with their grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams, and lambs, in proportion to their number.Also offer one male goat as a sin offering. These are in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.“ Offer these to the LORD at your appointed times in addition to your vow and freewill offerings, whether burnt, grain, drink, or fellowship offerings.”So Moses told the Israelites everything the LORD had commanded him.

At that time Jesus said to the crowds,“ Have you come out with swords and clubs, as if I were a criminal, to capture me? Every day I used to sit, teaching in the temple, and you didn’t arrest me.

“ On the third day present eleven bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs a year old— all unblemished—

On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and cried out,“ If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.

I will shake all the nations so that the treasures of all the nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,” says the LORD of Armies.“ The silver and gold belong to me”— this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies.“ The final glory of this house will be greater than the first,” says the LORD of Armies.“ I will provide peace in this place”— this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies.
