法利塞人中有曰：『此人不守安息日、決非自天主來者。』或曰：『罪人焉能行此靈蹟？』彼此頗持異同。

法利塞人曰：『得毋爾曹亦受其熒惑乎！

法利塞人風聞此種輿論、於是會同司祭諸長、遣發隸役以執耶穌、

坐中有耶路撒冷人數輩曰：『此非眾所欲殺者乎？今乃公然施訓、而莫之誰何！豈當局已確認其為基督乎？吾輩固知斯人之所自來、若基督果臨、則應無人知其所自來矣。』

故任作何事、勿存怨尤、毋滋紛爭、

有議士名若瑟者、猶太亞利瑪大人也、為人愷悌正直、平生企盼天主之國、

欲執之、而懾於民情；蓋眾皆奉彼為先知也。

百夫長既睹經過情形、乃歸榮於天主曰：『斯真聖者也』

『大人、憶彼惑眾者生前曾云：三日後吾當復活。

弟能及師、僕能如主、足矣；家主且被人呼為魔王、況家人乎？

眾皆驚駭、歸榮天主曰：『偉大先知、崛起吾中！』又曰：『天主實眷下民！』

問諸徒曰：『人謂人子是誰？』對曰：『或曰施洗如望、或曰依理藹、或曰日勒米亞、或曰先知之一耳。』曰：『然則爾等以我為誰？』西門伯鐸祿對曰：『子乃基督、永生天主之子也。』

善人心存乎善、發之亦善；惡人心存乎惡、發之亦惡；蓋心有所蘊、口則道之。

耶穌曰：『胡稱予善、天主外無善者。

巴拿巴、正人也、充乎聖神、篤於信德；於是歸主者益眾。

法利塞人應之曰：『汝亦加利利人耶？汝試一檢群經、應知加利利非出先知之地也！』

猶太人因是語又起紛爭、惟多數則曰：『彼實中魔而狂矣！胡為聽之？』或曰：『此非中魔者之言也！魔亦安能啟盲者之目乎？』

世之願為義人代死者鮮矣；雖然、敢為善人死者、容或有之；

人見所行聖跡、乃曰：『斯真將臨之先知！』
