And there was much complaining among the people concerning Him. Some said,“ He is good”; others said,“ No, on the contrary, He deceives the people.”

And there was much murmuring among the multitudes concerning him: some said, He is a good man; others said, Not so, but he leadeth the multitude astray.

有幾個法利賽人說：“那個人不是從神那裡來的，因為他不守安息日。”另外有些人說：“一個罪人怎能行這樣的神蹟呢？”他們就起了紛爭。

法利賽人說：“連你們也受了欺騙嗎？

法利賽人聽見群眾紛紛議論這些關於耶穌的事，祭司長和法利賽人就派差役去逮捕耶穌。

當時，有些耶路撒冷人說：“這不是他們想要殺的人嗎？你看，他還在公開地講話，竟然沒有人對他說甚麼，難道官長們真的認為這個人就是基督嗎？可是我們知道這個人是從哪裡來的，只是基督來的時候，沒有人知道他是從哪裡來的！”

無論作甚麼，都不要發怨言、起爭論，

有一個人名叫約瑟，是個議員，為人良善公義，

他們想要逮捕他，但又怕群眾，因為他們都認為耶穌是先知。

百夫長看見所發生的事，就頌讚神，說：“這真是個義人！”

“大人，我們想起那個騙子，生前說過：‘三天之後，我要復活。’

學生若能像老師一樣，奴僕若能像主人一樣，也就夠了。如果一家之主也被稱為別西卜﹙“別西卜”是鬼王的名字。﹚，何況他的家人呢？

眾人都驚懼，頌讚神說：“有偉大的先知在我們中間興起來了！”又說：“神眷顧他的子民了！”

耶穌來到該撒利亞．腓立比的地區，就問自己的門徒：“人說人子是誰？”他們回答：“有人說是施洗的約翰，有人說是以利亞，也有人說是耶利米，或是先知裡的一位。”他問他們：“你們說我是誰？”西門．彼得回答：“你是基督，是永生神的兒子。”

良善的人從心中所存的良善發出良善，邪惡的人從心中所存的邪惡發出邪惡；因為心中所充滿的，口裡就說出來。

耶穌對他說：“你為甚麼稱我是良善的呢？除了神一位以外，沒有良善的。

巴拿巴是個好人，滿有聖靈和信心，於是許多人歸了主。

他們回答：“你也是從加利利出來的嗎？你去考查一下，就知道先知是不會從加利利興起的。”

猶太人因著這些話又起了紛爭。他們當中有許多人說：“他是鬼附的，他發瘋了；為甚麼要聽他呢？”另外有人說：“這話不是鬼附的人所說的。鬼怎能使瞎子的眼睛開了呢？”

為義人死，是少有的；為好人死，或有敢作的；

眾人看見耶穌所行的神蹟，就說：“這真是那要到世上來的先知。”
