Jesus said therefore to the twelve,“ You don’t also want to go away, do you?”

耶稣就对那十二个门徒说：“你们也要去吗？”

于是耶稣问那十二个门徒：“你们也要离开我吗？”

于是耶稣对十二门徒说：“你们也想离去吗？”

耶稣就对十二使徒说：“你们也不会想离开吧？”

耶穌就對那十二個門徒說：「你們也要去嗎？」

耶穌就對那十二使徒說：「你們也要離開嗎？」

耶穌就對那十二使徒說：「你們也要離開嗎？」

於是耶穌問那十二個門徒：「你們也要離開我嗎？」

於是耶穌對十二門徒說：“你們也想離去嗎？”

於是耶穌就對那十二個人說：『難道你們也想要去麼？』

耶穌就對十二使徒說：「你們也不會想離開吧？」

耶穌謂十二徒曰、爾亦欲去乎、

耶穌謂十二徒曰、爾曹亦欲去乎、

耶穌謂十二門徒曰、爾曹亦欲去乎、

因此門徒多有退者、不復從其遊。

“ You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.

“ You don’t want to leave also, do you?” Jesus asked the 12 disciples.

So Jesus said to the Twelve,“ Do you want to go away as well?”

Then Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked,“ Are you also going to leave?”

So Jesus said to the Twelve,“ You don’t want to go away too, do you?”

So Jesus said to the twelve,“ You do not want to leave also, do you?”

Then Jesus said to the twelve,“ Do you also want to go away?”

Jesus said therefore unto the twelve, Would ye also go away?

Therefore Jesus said to the Twelve,“ You don’t want to go away too, do you?”

Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

So Jesus said to the twelve,“ You don’t want to go away too, do you?”

Naomi said,“ Go back, my daughters. Why do you want to go with me? Do I still have sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?Go back, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have a husband. If I should say,‘ I have hope,’ if I should even have a husband tonight, and should also bear sons,would you then wait until they were grown? Would you then refrain from having husbands? No, my daughters, for it grieves me seriously for your sakes, for Yahweh’s hand has gone out against me.”They lifted up their voices and wept again; then Orpah kissed her mother- in- law, but Ruth stayed with her.She said,“ Behold, your sister- in- law has gone back to her people and to her god. Follow your sister- in- law.”Ruth said,“ Don’t urge me to leave you, and to return from following you, for where you go, I will go; and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God my God.Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May Yahweh do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.”When Naomi saw that she was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her.

If it seems evil to you to serve Yahweh, choose today whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh.”The people answered,“ Far be it from us that we should forsake Yahweh, to serve other gods;for it is Yahweh our God who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way in which we went, and among all the peoples through the middle of whom we passed.Yahweh drove out from before us all the peoples, even the Amorites who lived in the land. Therefore we also will serve Yahweh; for he is our God.”Joshua said to the people,“ You can’t serve Yahweh, for he is a holy God. He is a jealous God. He will not forgive your disobedience nor your sins.If you forsake Yahweh, and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you evil, and consume you, after he has done you good.”The people said to Joshua,“ No, but we will serve Yahweh.”Joshua said to the people,“ You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen Yahweh yourselves, to serve him.” They said,“ We are witnesses.”

Then the king said to Ittai the Gittite,“ Why do you also go with us? Return, and stay with the king; for you are a foreigner, and also an exile. Return to your own place.Whereas you came but yesterday, should I today make you go up and down with us, since I go where I may? Return, and take back your brothers. Mercy and truth be with you.”

Now great multitudes were going with him. He turned and said to them,“ If anyone comes to me, and doesn’t disregard his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he can’t be my disciple.Whoever doesn’t bear his own cross, and come after me, can’t be my disciple.For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?Or perhaps, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, everyone who sees begins to mock him,saying,‘ This man began to build, and wasn’t able to finish.’Or what king, as he goes to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an envoy, and asks for conditions of peace.So therefore whoever of you who doesn’t renounce all that he has, he can’t be my disciple.

Jesus answered them,“ Didn’t I choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee; John, his brother;
