For those He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.

You know when I sit down and when I stand up; You understand my thoughts from far away.You observe my travels and my rest; You are aware of all my ways.Before a word is on my tongue, You know all about it, Lord.

Jesus, knowing in Himself that His disciples were complaining about this, asked them,“ Does this offend you?

No creature is hidden from Him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account.

but I know you— that you have no love for God within you.

From that moment many of His disciples turned back and no longer accompanied Him.

But as I told you, you’ve seen Me, and yet you do not believe.

I’m not speaking about all of you; I know those I have chosen. But the Scripture must be fulfilled: The one who eats My bread has raised his heel against Me.“ I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am He.I assure you: Whoever receives anyone I send receives Me, and the one who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”When Jesus had said this, He was troubled in His spirit and testified,“ I assure you: One of you will betray Me!”

You’ve never known Him, but I know Him. If I were to say I don’t know Him, I would be a liar like you. But I do know Him, and I keep His word.

I speak what I have seen in the presence of the Father; therefore, you do what you have heard from your father.”“ Our father is Abraham!” they replied.“ If you were Abraham’s children,” Jesus told them,“ you would do what Abraham did.But now you are trying to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do this!You’re doing what your father does.”“ We weren’t born of sexual immorality,” they said.“ We have one Father— God.”Jesus said to them,“ If God were your Father, you would love Me, because I came from God and I am here. For I didn’t come on My own, but He sent Me.Why don’t you understand what I say? Because you cannot listen to My word.You are of your father the Devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of liars.Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.Who among you can convict Me of sin? If I tell the truth, why don’t you believe Me?The one who is from God listens to God’s words. This is why you don’t listen, because you are not from God.”

“ You are from below,” He told them,“ I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.
