耶稣说：“我不是拣选了你们十二个人吗？但你们中间有一个是魔鬼。”耶稣这话是指着加略人西门的儿子犹大说的，因为他虽然是十二门徒之一，却要出卖耶稣。

耶稣说：“洗过澡的人，全身都洁净，只需要洗脚就可以了。你们是洁净的，但不是人人都是这样。”原来耶稣知道谁要出卖他，所以他说“你们不是人人都是洁净的”。

耶稣却不信任他们，因为他知道所有的人，也不需要谁指证人是怎样的，因为他知道人心里存的是什么。

然而，神坚固的根基已经立定，上面刻着这样的印：“主认识属于他的人”和“凡称呼主名的人都应当离开不义”。

因为神预先知道的人，他就预先命定他们和他儿子的形象一模一样，使他的儿子在许多弟兄中作长子，

我坐下，我起来，你都知道；你在远处就明白我的意念。我行路，我躺卧，你都细察；我的一切行为，你都熟悉。耶和华啊！我的舌头还没有发言，你已经完全知道了。

耶稣心里知道门徒为了这事议论纷纷，就对他们说：“这话使你们动摇吗？

被造的在神面前没有一样不是显明的，万有在他的眼前都是赤露敞开的；我们必须向他交帐。

我知道你们心里没有神的爱。

这是自古以来就显明了这些事的主所说的。’

从此，他的门徒中有许多人退去了，不再与他同行。

但我告诉你们，你们虽然见了我，还是不信。

我这话不是指着你们全体说的；我认识我所拣选的人，但是经上的话：‘那吃我饭的，用他的脚踢我’，必须应验。现在，事情还没有发生，我就告诉你们，使你们到时可以信我就是‘那一位’。我实实在在告诉你们，那接待我所差遣的，就是接待我；接待我的，就是接待那差我来的。”耶稣说了这话，心里很难过，就明明地说：“我实实在在告诉你们，你们中间有一个人要出卖我。”

可是你们不认识他，我却认识他。如果我说我不认识他，我就像你们一样是说谎的；然而我认识他，也遵守他的道。

我所说的，是我在父那里看见的；但你们所作的，却是从你们的父那里听见的。”他们说：“我们的祖宗是亚伯拉罕。”耶稣说：“你们若是亚伯拉罕的子孙，就必作亚伯拉罕所作的。现在我把从神那里听见的真理告诉了你们，你们竟然想杀我，这不是亚伯拉罕所作的。你们要作的，正是你们的父要作的。”他们说：“我们不是从淫乱生的；我们只有一位父，就是神。”耶稣说：“如果神是你们的父，你们就必爱我，因为我是从神那里来的；我已经来到这里。我不是凭着自己来的，而是神差了我来。你们为什么不明白我的话呢？因为我的道你们听不进去。你们是出于你们的父魔鬼，喜欢按着你们的父的私欲行事。他从起初就是杀人的凶手，不守真理，因为他心里没有真理。他说谎是出于本性，因为他本来就是说谎者，也是说谎的人的父。我讲真理，你们却因此不信我。你们中间有谁能指证我有罪呢？我既然讲真理，你们为什么不信我呢？出于神的，就听神的话；你们不听，因为你们不是出于神的。”

耶稣说：“你们是从地上来的，我是从天上来的；你们属这世界，我却不属这世界，
