The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying,“ How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”

Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves,“ How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”

Some therefore of the Pharisees said,“ This man is not from God, because he doesn’t keep the Sabbath.” Others said,“ How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” There was division among them.

The Jews therefore murmured concerning him, because he said,“ I am the bread which came down out of heaven.”

Nicodemus answered him,“ How can these things be?”

Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked; but others said,“ We want to hear you again concerning this.”

Now the natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Nicodemus said to him,“ How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?”

Many of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said,“ This is truly the prophet.”Others said,“ This is the Christ.” But some said,“ What, does the Christ come out of Galilee?Hasn’t the Scripture said that the Christ comes of the offspring of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?”So a division arose in the multitude because of him.

The woman said to him,“ Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. So where do you get that living water?
