Then the Jews began to argue with one another, saying,“ How can this man give us His flesh to eat?”

Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves,“ How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”

Then the people began arguing with each other about what he meant.“ How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” they asked.

The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying,“ How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”

Dissension occurred again among the Jews because of these words.

Therefore some of the Pharisees were saying,“ This man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” But others were saying,“ How can a man who is a sinner perform such signs?” And there was dissension among them.

So then the Jews were complaining about Him because He said,“ I am the bread that came down out of heaven.”

Nicodemus responded and said to Him,“ How can these things be?”

Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some began to scoff, but others said,“ We shall hear from you again concerning this.”

But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Nicodemus* said to Him,“ How can a person be born when he is old? He cannot enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born, can he?”

Some of the people therefore, after they heard these words, were saying,“ This truly is the Prophet.”Others were saying,“ This is the Christ.” But others were saying,“ Surely the Christ is not coming from Galilee, is He?Has the Scripture not said that the Christ comes from the descendants of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?”So a dissension occurred in the crowd because of Him.

She* said to Him,“ Sir, You have no bucket and the well is deep; where then do You get this living water?
