Now I desire to remind you( even though you have been fully informed of these facts once for all) that Jesus, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, later destroyed those who did not believe.

And against whom was God provoked for forty years? Was it not those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness?And to whom did he swear they would never enter into his rest, except those who were disobedient?So we see that they could not enter because of unbelief.

and all ate the same spiritual food,and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they were all drinking from the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.But God was not pleased with most of them, for they were cut down in the wilderness.

“ As for your ancestors, where are they? And did the prophets live forever?

This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the bread your ancestors ate, but then later died. The one who eats this bread will live forever.”

Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, just as it is written,‘ He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”

For the LORD had said of them,“ They will surely die in the wilderness.” And there was not left a single man of them, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
