Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died.

Now I want to remind you, though you know all these things: The Lord first saved a people out of Egypt and later destroyed those who did not believe;

And who was He provoked with for 40 years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?And who did He swear to that they would not enter His rest, if not those who disobeyed?So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.

They all ate the same spiritual food,and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from a spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ.But God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the wilderness.

“ Where are your ancestors now? And do the prophets live forever?

This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the manna your fathers ate— and they died. The one who eats this bread will live forever.”

For the Lord had said to them that they would all die in the wilderness. None of them was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
