Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died.

Now I want to remind you, although you came to know all these things once and for all, that Jesus saved a people out of Egypt and later destroyed those who did not believe;

With whom was God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, if not to those who disobeyed?So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.

They all ate the same spiritual food,and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ.Nevertheless God was not pleased with most of them, since they were struck down in the wilderness.

Where are your ancestors now? And do the prophets live forever?

This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the manna your ancestors ate— and they died. The one who eats this bread will live forever.”
