For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.

I have not come down from heaven to do what I want to do. I have come to do what the one who sent me wants me to do.

No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.

but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.

For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

( Now this,“ He ascended”— what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?

He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying,“ O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter,“ What! Could you not watch with Me one hour?Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying,“ O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”

though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written,“ The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.”

Then I said,‘ Behold, I have come— in the volume of the book it is written of Me— to do Your will, O God.’”Previously saying,“ Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them”( which are offered according to the law),then He said,“ Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second.

Then I said,“ Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me.I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”
