For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.

He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is of the earth, and of the earth he speaketh: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

For the bread of God is that which cometh down out of heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

( Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?

And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.Again a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, My Father, if this cannot pass away, except I drink it, thy will be done.

though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered;

even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

For Christ also pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell upon me.

Then said I, Lo, I am come( In the roll of the book it is written of me) To do thy will, O God.Saying above, Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein( the which are offered according to the law),then hath he said, Lo, I am come to do thy will. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Then said I, Lo, I am come; In the roll of the book it is written of me:I delight to do thy will, O my God; Yea, thy law is within my heart.
