Everyone the Father gives me will come to me. I will never send away anyone who comes to me.

For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.

Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are— yet he did not sin.

“ Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord.“ Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land;

A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;

He went on to say,“ This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”

At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions— it is by grace you have been saved.And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith— and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,

But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription:“ The Lord knows those who are his,” and,“ Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.

Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendor, your young men will come to you like dew from the morning’s womb.

“ No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.It is written in the Prophets:‘ They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me.

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

The Spirit and the bride say,“ Come!” And let the one who hears say,“ Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said,‘ You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.

He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea.

I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.

But the other criminal rebuked him.“ Don’t you fear God,” he said,“ since you are under the same sentence?We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”Then he said,“ Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”Jesus answered him,“ Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

To this they replied,“ You were steeped in sin at birth; how dare you lecture us!” And they threw him out.
