Jesus answered,“ The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

耶穌曰、信其所遣者、即上帝之工也、

耶穌曰、信其所遣者、即稱上帝之事、

耶穌曰、信天主所遣者、即行天主之事、

耶穌對曰：『能信天主所遣者、斯誠天主之務矣。』

Jesus answered,“ God’s work is to believe in the one he has sent.”

Jesus answered them,“ This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”

Jesus told them,“ This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”

Jesus replied,“ This is the work of God— that you believe in the one he has sent.”

Jesus answered and said to them,“ This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

They replied,“ Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved— you and your household.”

and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation.However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.

I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him.I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name.

Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

“ Then he said:‘ The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth.You will be his witness to all people of what you have seen and heard.And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’

What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith;but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal.

Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
