They replied,“ We want to perform God’s works, too. What should we do?”

众人问他说：“我们当行什么才算做神的工呢？”

于是他们问他：“我们该做什么才算是做上帝的工作呢？”

众人问祂：“我们要怎样做，才算是做上帝的工作呢？”

众人又问他：“我们应该作什么，才算是作神的工作呢？”

他们问：“我们应该做什么，才算做神的工作呢？”

眾人問他說：「我們當行甚麼才算做神的工呢？」

於是他們問他：「我們該做甚麼才算是做上帝的工作呢？」

於是他們問他：「我們該做甚麼才算是做神的工作呢？」

眾人問祂：「我們要怎樣做，才算是做上帝的工作呢？」

眾人又問他：“我們應該作甚麼，才算是作神的工作呢？”

於是他們對耶穌說：『我們應當行甚麼、來作上帝的工呢？』

他們問：「我們應該做什麼，才算做神的工作呢？」

眾曰、我儕當何為以作上帝之工乎、

眾曰我儕當何為、以稱上帝之事乎、

眾曰、我當何為、以行天主之事乎、

眾問曰：『如之何始可務天主之務？』

Then they asked him,“ What must we do to do the works God requires?”

Then they asked him,“ What does God want from us? What works does he want us to do?”

Then they said to him,“ What must we do, to be doing the works of God?”

“ What can we do to perform the works of God?” they asked.

Therefore they said to Him,“ What are we to do, so that we may accomplish the works of God?”

Then they said to Him,“ What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”

They said therefore unto him, What must we do, that we may work the works of God?

“ What can we do to perform the works of God?” they asked.

Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

So then they said to him,“ What must we do to accomplish the deeds God requires?”

They said therefore to him,“ What must we do, that we may work the works of God?”

Go yourself and listen to what the Lord our God says. Then come and tell us everything he tells you, and we will listen and obey.’

Someone came to Jesus with this question:“ Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?”

Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

Then he brought them out and asked,“ Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

For you were not being honest when you sent me to pray to the Lord your God for you. You said,‘ Just tell us what the Lord our God says, and we will do it!’

Pray that the Lord your God will show us what to do and where to go.”“ All right,” Jeremiah replied.“ I will pray to the Lord your God, as you have asked, and I will tell you everything he says. I will hide nothing from you.”Then they said to Jeremiah,“ May the Lord your God be a faithful witness against us if we refuse to obey whatever he tells us to do!Whether we like it or not, we will obey the Lord our God to whom we are sending you with our plea. For if we obey him, everything will turn out well for us.”

One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question:“ Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?”

Should we offer him thousands of rams and ten thousand rivers of olive oil? Should we sacrifice our firstborn children to pay for our sins?No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles,“ Brothers, what should we do?”
