since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him.

But the testimony that I have is greater than that of John. This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”

making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures,then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;

Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness,waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn!But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.

All the toil of man is for his mouth, yet his appetite is not satisfied.

remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus said to her,“ Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again,but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Whoever receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true.

that no one is sexually immoral or unholy like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal.

For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.

He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness would be counted to them as well,

I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.”

For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.

If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.

I am the one who bears witness about myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness about me.”

( referring to things that all perish as they are used)— according to human precepts and teachings?

“ Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food”— and God will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

“ Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know—

When goods increase, they increase who eat them, and what advantage has their owner but to see them with his eyes?Sweet is the sleep of a laborer, whether he eats little or much, but the full stomach of the rich will not let him sleep.There is a grievous evil that I have seen under the sun: riches were kept by their owner to his hurt,and those riches were lost in a bad venture. And he is father of a son, but he has nothing in his hand.As he came from his mother’s womb he shall go again, naked as he came, and shall take nothing for his toil that he may carry away in his hand.This also is a grievous evil: just as he came, so shall he go, and what gain is there to him who toils for the wind?

He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him.And he began to say to them,“ Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.

Jesus said to him,“ I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me;but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”

There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear,

But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said,“ Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.”But the Lord answered her,“ Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air.But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

If to others I am not an apostle, at least I am to you, for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.

And Jesus said to him,“ Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”

Behold, is it not from the Lord of hosts that peoples labor merely for fire, and nations weary themselves for nothing?

as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
