When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened.

And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

The LORD on high[ is] mightier than the noise of many waters,[ yea, than] the mighty waves of the sea.

The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.

And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace[ be] unto you.But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring[ it] to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them.

Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.

Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:

And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand[ and] six hundred furlongs.

And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem[ about] threescore furlongs.
