Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.

Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.

Immediately He made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while He sent the multitude away.And when He had sent them away, He departed to the mountain to pray.Now when evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea; and He was alone on the land.Then He saw them straining at rowing, for the wind was against them. Now about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea, and would have passed them by.And when they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed it was a ghost, and cried out;for they all saw Him and were troubled. But immediately He talked with them and said to them,“ Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”Then He went up into the boat to them, and the wind ceased. And they were greatly amazed in themselves beyond measure, and marveled.For they had not understood about the loaves, because their heart was hardened.

His brothers therefore said to Him,“ Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing.For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.”

Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away.And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there.But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying,“ It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying,“ Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”And Peter answered Him and said,“ Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”So He said,“ Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying,“ Lord, save me!”And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him,“ O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying,“ Truly You are the Son of God.”

Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:“ Hosanna!‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’

saying:“‘ Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out:“ Hosanna!‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!”Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:“ Fear not, daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming, Sitting on a donkey’s colt.”

And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat with His disciples.

But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men,and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
