耶穌促門徒先登舟赴伯賽大、自遣眾散。既別、登山祈禱；入晚、耶穌在岸、見徒鼓櫂、苦於風逆；四鼓、耶穌蹈海向門徒行、意欲越之。門徒見其行於海上、以為鬼物、不禁驚呼。蓋諸徒皆見之、莫不張皇失措。耶穌乃慰之曰：『爾其安心、我也、毋恐！』登舟風息、無不駭然。前時分餅、已示靈蹟、獨門徒心猶昧然未悟耳。

其昆弟謂之曰：『盍離此而赴猶太、俾爾諸徒亦得睹爾所行異蹟。凡有為者、不宜幽居潛處、必欲有以自彰。爾既有此異能、盍亦自顯於世乎？』

俄而耶穌促門徒登舟先濟彼岸、己則遣散眾人。眾既散、獨自登山祈禱；暮夜仍獨留山中。其時門徒之舟、猶在海中、逆風而行、困於巨浪。時方四鼓、耶穌步海詣徒。徒見其履海、懼甚、謂為怪物、不禁駭號。耶穌亟謂之曰：『爾可安心、我也、勿懼。』伯鐸祿曰：『若果為主、請命我步水就爾。』耶穌曰：『來也！』伯鐸祿出舟步水、向耶穌行。無何怵於暴風、身將下沉、因大呼曰：『主其救我！』耶穌即伸手援之曰：『何爾信心之薄、而疑懼之多也！』甫登舟、風立息。舟中人羅拜曰：『汝真天主子。』

前後護行者、同聲呼曰：『賀三納、奉主名以至者、洵堪丕揚！

『奉主名以臨、君王堪丕揚、太平寓天闕、光榮徹上蒼。』

翌日、赴節之群眾聞耶穌將至耶路撒冷、各執椶樹枝出而迎之、呼曰：『賀三納兮義塞王！』奉主名而來兮、堪頌揚！』耶穌得一小驢、乘之、正如經所載云：「西溫女、莫驚惶！伊人來兮、爾之王！爾王安坐驢駒上！」

耶穌登山、與門徒共坐。

惟耶穌於眾人、亦不予以輕信、蓋彼洞幽燭微、於人無所不悉、固無待外證耳。

凡屬受造之物、莫不在天主明鑒之下、腑肺盡露；吾人皆向渠負責、固無所逃於天地間也。

予非求榮於人也；
