At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,

The man was healed right away. He picked up his mat and walked. This happened on a Sabbath day.

And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked. Now that day was the Sabbath.

Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking! But this miracle happened on the Sabbath,

As he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath,a woman was there who had been disabled by a spirit for over eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all.When Jesus saw her, he called out to her,“ Woman, you are free of your disability.”Then he laid his hands on her, and instantly she was restored and began to glorify God.But the leader of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, responded by telling the crowd,“ There are six days when work should be done; therefore come on those days and be healed and not on the Sabbath day.”But the Lord answered him and said,“ Hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you untie his ox or donkey from the feeding trough on the Sabbath and lead it to water?Satan has bound this woman, a daughter of Abraham, for eighteen years— shouldn’t she be untied from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”

If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses won’t be broken, are you angry at me because I made a man entirely well on the Sabbath?

and so the Jews said to the man who had been healed,“ This is the Sabbath. The law prohibits you from picking up your mat.”He replied,“ The man who made me well told me,‘ Pick up your mat and walk.’”“ Who is this man who told you,‘ Pick up your mat and walk’?” they asked.

Then, taking him by the right hand he raised him up, and at once his feet and ankles became strong.So he jumped up and started to walk, and he entered the temple with them— walking, leaping, and praising God.

After this, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him,“ See, you are well. Do not sin anymore, so that something worse doesn’t happen to you.”

There he saw a man who had a shriveled hand, and in order to accuse him they asked him,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”He replied to them,“ Who among you, if he had a sheep that fell into a pit on the Sabbath, wouldn’t take hold of it and lift it out?A person is worth far more than a sheep; so it is lawful to do what is good on the Sabbath.”Then he told the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and it was restored, as good as the other.

Then he took the child by the hand and said to her,“ Talitha koum”( which is translated,“ Little girl, I say to you, get up”).Immediately the girl got up and began to walk.( She was twelve years old.) At this they were utterly astounded.

So he went to her, took her by the hand, and raised her up. The fever left her, and she began to serve them.

Instantly her flow of blood ceased, and she sensed in her body that she was healed of her affliction.

Immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean.

Jesus said to him,“ Go, your faith has saved you.” Immediately he could see and began to follow Jesus on the road.

In order to accuse him, they were watching him closely to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath.He told the man with the shriveled hand,“ Stand before us.”Then he said to them,“ Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.
