Do you believe Moses? Then you should believe me. He wrote about me.

For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me.

The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you– from your fellow Israelites; you must listen to him.

I will raise up a prophet like you for them from among their fellow Israelites. I will put my words in his mouth and he will speak to them whatever I command.I will personally hold responsible anyone who then pays no attention to the words that prophet speaks in my name.

Philip found Nathanael and told him,“ We have found the one Moses wrote about in the law, and the prophets also wrote about– Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

I have experienced help from God to this day, and so I stand testifying to both small and great, saying nothing except what the prophets and Moses said was going to happen:

Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them the things written about himself in all the scriptures.

Now this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, met Abraham as he was returning from defeating the kings and blessed him.To him also Abraham apportioned a tithe of everything. His name first means king of righteousness, then king of Salem, that is, king of peace.Without father, without mother, without genealogy, he has neither beginning of days nor end of life but is like the son of God, and he remains a priest for all time.But see how great he must be, if Abraham the patriarch gave him a tithe of his plunder.And those of the sons of Levi who receive the priestly office have authorization according to the law to collect a tithe from the people, that is, from their fellow countrymen, although they too are descendants of Abraham.But Melchizedek who does not share their ancestry collected a tithe from Abraham and blessed the one who possessed the promise.Now without dispute the inferior is blessed by the superior,and in one case tithes are received by mortal men, while in the other by him who is affirmed to be alive.And it could be said that Levi himself, who receives tithes, paid a tithe through Abraham.For he was still in his ancestor Abraham’s loins when Melchizedek met him.

Because you have obeyed me, all the nations of the earth will pronounce blessings on one another using the name of your descendants.’”

The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs; the nations will obey him.

The LORD said to Moses,“ Make a poisonous snake and set it on a pole. When anyone who is bitten looks at it, he will live.”So Moses made a bronze snake and put it on a pole, so that if a snake had bitten someone, when he looked at the bronze snake he lived.

Thus the law had become our guardian until Christ, so that we could be declared righteous by faith.

And I will put hostility between you and the woman and between your offspring and her offspring; her offspring will attack your head, and you will attack her offspring’s heel.”

For through the law I died to the law so that I may live to God.

After all, Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all the nations on the earth will pronounce blessings on one another using his name.

For all who rely on doing the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written,“ Cursed is everyone who does not keep on doing everything written in the book of the law.”

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us( because it is written,“ Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)

Tell me, you who want to be under the law, do you not understand the law?For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman.But one, the son by the slave woman, was born by natural descent, while the other, the son by the free woman, was born through the promise.These things may be treated as an allegory, for these women represent two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai bearing children for slavery; this is Hagar.Now Hagar represents Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.For it is written:“ Rejoice, O barren woman who does not bear children; break forth and shout, you who have no birth pains, because the children of the desolate woman are more numerous than those of the woman who has a husband.”But you, brothers and sisters, are children of the promise like Isaac.But just as at that time the one born by natural descent persecuted the one born according to the Spirit, so it is now.But what does the scripture say?“ Throw out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman will not share the inheritance with the son” of the free woman.Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman but of the free woman.

Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west, east, north, and south. All the families of the earth will pronounce blessings on one another using your name and that of your descendants.

For Christ is the end of the law, with the result that there is righteousness for everyone who believes.
