How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

You accept praise from one another. But you do not seek the praise that comes from the only God. So how can you believe?

How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

No wonder you can’t believe! For you gladly honor each other, but you don’t care about the honor that comes from the one who alone is God.

How can you believe, since you accept glory from one another but don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?

How can you believe, when you accept glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?

How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?

How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and the glory that cometh from the only God ye seek not?

How can you believe? While accepting glory from one another, you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God.

How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that[ cometh] from God only?

How can you believe, if you accept praise from one another and don’t seek the praise that comes from the only God?

How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?

惟內心為猶太人、真為猶太人；心靈之割禮、真為割禮。蓋割禮在精神、而不在形式、在取悅於天主、而不在苟合於人耳。

毋分黨派、毋爭虛榮；謙卑自牧、先人後己；

凡彼所行、惟欲求知於人；廣其佩經、長其綴旒、

然此乃所以鍛鍊爾之信德、而於耶穌基督顯現之日、玉成爾之光榮及天爵耳。夫黃金乃必朽之物、尚且以火煉之；而信德固貴於黃金也。

蓋若輩之愛慕人爵、有甚乎天爵者焉。

主曰：「俞、忠信之僕也？爾既忠於小事、將託爾以大事。其進而享乃主之樂。」受二千者亦謂曰：「吾主以二千金見託、予茲又獲二千。」主曰：「俞、忠信之僕也；爾既忠於小事、將託爾以大事。其進而享乃主之樂。」

為善有恆、追求真光榮、真不朽者、報以永生、

故望爾等在時機未熟之前、勿遽下評斷；務須靜候主之來臨。屆時、彼必燭幽揚隱、揭曉人心之思慮；而人人必得公允之褒獎矣。

尊榮安康、加於為善之人、亦始自猶太、推及希臘。

無他、蓋順於欲者、則逆於天主；如此自不甘服天主之法、且亦不能。故凡體欲之情者、必不能取悅於天主也。

主曰：「俞！忠僕哉！爾既忠於小事、可掌十邑。」

蓋行為不正者、必惡真光、而莫敢與之近、惟恐其行為之見燭也。

夫情慾之事、亦顯而易見也；凡姦非污濁、淫蕩奢侈、拜偶像、行巫術、仇恨爭競、好勝忿怒朋比釁隙、迷惑異端、嫉妒殘殺、沉醉荒宴等類皆是。吾夙已言之、今復鄭重相告、凡行此等事者、必不得承受天主之國也。

爾曹之莫明吾言何也？實緣爾曹不堪聞吾道耳。

蓋稱許自己者、未足嘉也；惟為天主所許、斯可嘉已。

兄弟乎、吾人所信仰景慕者、惟在光榮之主耶穌基督。慎毋以勢利之習氣、沾污爾之信仰。

人能識父為唯一真宰、及父所遣之耶穌基督、則永生即在斯中。

兄弟其慎之哉！莫使爾中有一人存執拗不信之心、自絕於永生之主宰也。
