You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,

You study the Scriptures carefully. You study them because you think they will give you eternal life. The Scriptures you study are a witness about me.

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,

“ You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!

You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, and yet they testify about me.

You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me;

Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;

You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, yet they testify about Me.

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

You study the scriptures thoroughly because you think in them you possess eternal life, and it is these same scriptures that testify about me,

“ You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me.

And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

Then He said to them,“ These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”

And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

“ Search from the book of the Lord, and read: Not one of these shall fail; Not one shall lack her mate. For My mouth has commanded it, and His Spirit has gathered them.

These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you,searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.

Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come—that the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.”

For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not know Him, nor even the voices of the Prophets which are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled them in condemning Him.

which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures,

Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; For they are ever with me.I have more understanding than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation.

Hear instruction and be wise, And do not disdain it.Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors.

Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God.

The wise men are ashamed, They are dismayed and taken. Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord; So what wisdom do they have?

The place in the Scripture which he read was this:“ He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth.In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.”So the eunuch answered Philip and said,“ I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?”Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.

“ The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear,

I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.

Have you not even read this Scripture:‘ The stone which the builders rejectedHas become the chief cornerstone.

Jesus answered and said to them,“ You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.

For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.

They answered and said to him,“ Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.”

Abraham said to him,‘ They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’

Philip found Nathanael and said to him,“ We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote— Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life, and by this word you shall prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess.”

Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true.

And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me,“ See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you do believe.”

“ Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates,

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

But he said to him,‘ If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’”

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying,“ Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”He said to him,“ What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”So he answered and said,“‘ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and‘ your neighbor as yourself.’”And He said to him,“ You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus,“ And who is my neighbor?”

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

He asked life from You, and You gave it to him— Length of days forever and ever.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.

To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

But I have a greater witness than John’s; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish— the very works that I do— bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.

Now behold, one came and said to Him,“ Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”So He said to him,“ Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”He said to Him,“ Which ones?” Jesus said,“‘ You shall not murder,’‘ You shall not commit adultery,’‘ You shall not steal,’‘ You shall not bear false witness,’‘ Honor your father and your mother,’ and,‘ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”The young man said to Him,“ All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?”

It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Indeed you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and make your boast in God,and know His will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law,

“ Also it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book, from the one before the priests, the Levites.And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes,

But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.
