Then Jesus shouted,“ Lazarus, come out!”And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them,“ Unwrap him and let him go!”

Then Jesus took her by the hand and said in a loud voice,“ My child, get up!”And at that moment her life returned, and she immediately stood up! Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.

Why does it seem incredible to any of you that God can raise the dead?

That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him,“ I have made you the father of many nations.” This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing.Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping— believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him,“ That’s how many descendants you will have!”And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead— and so was Sarah’s womb.

For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him.

When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes in dismay and said,“ Am I God, that I can give life and take it away? Why is this man asking me to heal someone with leprosy? I can see that he’s just trying to pick a fight with me.”

When Elisha arrived, the child was indeed dead, lying there on the prophet’s bed.He went in alone and shut the door behind him and prayed to the Lord.Then he lay down on the child’s body, placing his mouth on the child’s mouth, his eyes on the child’s eyes, and his hands on the child’s hands. And as he stretched out on him, the child’s body began to grow warm again!Elisha got up, walked back and forth across the room once, and then stretched himself out again on the child. This time the boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes!

And he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the Lord,“ O Lord my God, please let this child’s life return to him.”
