馬大對耶穌說：『主啊，你若在這裏，我兄弟就不會死了。

耶穌就同他們去。離那家不遠，百夫長就差幾個朋友去見耶穌，對他說：『主啊，不用麻煩了；你進我舍下，我配不起；因此我也自以為不配去見你。你只要吩咐一句話，讓我的僮僕得醫治就得啦。因為我是受派在權柄之下的人，也有兵在我以下。我對這個說「去」，他就去；對另一個說「來」，他就來；對我的僕人說，「你作這事」，他就去作。』
