The Jewish Passover was near, and so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.In the temple he found people selling oxen, sheep, and doves, and he also found the money changers sitting there.After making a whip out of cords, he drove everyone out of the temple with their sheep and oxen. He also poured out the money changers’ coins and overturned the tables.He told those who were selling doves,“ Get these things out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a marketplace!”

But they did not welcome him, because he determined to journey to Jerusalem.

When Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him.

When he was twelve years old, they went up according to the custom of the festival.After those days were over, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it.Assuming he was in the traveling party, they went a day’s journey. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends.

Now Jesus began to go all over Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.Then the news about him spread throughout Syria. So they brought to him all those who were afflicted, those suffering from various diseases and intense pains, the demon-possessed, the epileptics, and the paralytics. And he healed them.
