Then the Samaritans came to him and tried to get him to stay with them. So he stayed two days.

She had a sister named Mary. Mary sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.

But they tried hard to keep him from leaving. They said,“ Stay with us. It is nearly evening. The day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in. I will eat with that person, and they will eat with me.

Jesus reached the spot where Zacchaeus was. He looked up and said,“ Zacchaeus, come down at once. I must stay at your house today.”So Zacchaeus came down at once and welcomed him gladly.All the people saw this. They began to whisper among themselves. They said,“ Jesus has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”But Zacchaeus stood up. He said,“ Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of what I own to those who are poor. And if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay it back. I will pay back four times the amount I took.”Jesus said to Zacchaeus,“ Today salvation has come to your house. You are a member of Abraham’s family line.The Son of Man came to look for the lost and save them.”

As soon as I had passed by them I found the one my heart loves. I threw my arms around him and didn’t let him go until I had brought him to my mother’s house. I took him to my mother’s room.

The man who was now free of the demons begged to go with him. But Jesus sent him away. He said to him,

We work together with God. So we are asking you not to receive God’s grace and then do nothing with it.He says,“ When I had mercy on you, I heard you. On the day I saved you, I helped you.”( Isaiah 49:8) I tell you, now is the time God has mercy. Now is the day he saves.
