She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to what he said.

but they urged him,“ Stay with us, because it is getting toward evening and the day is almost done.” So he went in to stay with them.

Listen! I am standing at the door and knocking! If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come into his home and share a meal with him, and he with me.

And when Jesus came to that place, he looked up and said to him,“ Zacchaeus, come down quickly, because I must stay at your house today.”So he came down quickly and welcomed Jesus joyfully.And when the people saw it, they all complained,“ He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”But Zacchaeus stopped and said to the Lord,“ Look, Lord, half of my possessions I now give to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone of anything, I am paying back four times as much!”Then Jesus said to him,“ Today salvation has come to this household, because he too is a son of Abraham!For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Scarcely had I passed them by when I found my beloved! I held onto him tightly and would not let him go until I brought him to my mother’s house, to the bedroom chamber of the one who conceived me.

The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,

Now because we are fellow workers, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.For he says,“ I heard you at the acceptable time, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” Look, now is the acceptable time; look, now is the day of salvation!

Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; protect it, because it is your life.
