As the time drew near for him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.He sent messengers ahead to a Samaritan village to prepare for his arrival.

Jesus sent out the twelve apostles with these instructions:“ Don’t go to the Gentiles or the Samaritans,but only to the people of Israel— God’s lost sheep.

“ But why did you need to search?” he asked.“ Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”
