Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself,“ If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner.”

( For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.)The Samaritan woman said to him,“ How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?”( For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
