那地的族長希未人哈抹的兒子示劍看見她，就拉住她，與她同寢，玷辱了她。

所以丈夫還活着，她若跟了別的男人，就叫淫婦；丈夫若死了，她就脫離了律法，雖然跟了別的男人，也不是淫婦。

婚姻，人人都當尊重，共眠的床也不可污穢，因為淫亂和通姦的人，神必審判。

妻子若離棄丈夫另嫁，也是犯姦淫了。」

我也娶瑪倫的妻子摩押女子路得，好讓死人可以在產業上留名，免得他的名在本族本鄉的城門中消失了。你們今日都是證人。」

以色列家啊，你們向我行詭詐，真像妻子行詭詐離開丈夫。這是耶和華說的。」

他們卻說：「他豈可待我們的妹妹如同妓女呢？」

至於那已經嫁娶的，我吩咐他們－其實不是我，而是主吩咐的：妻子不可離開丈夫，若是離開了，不可再嫁，不然要跟丈夫復和；丈夫也不可離棄妻子。

「這是疑忌的條例。妻子背離丈夫玷污自己，

你這行淫的妻子啊，竟然接外人，替代丈夫。
