婦曰：『先生盍以此水見賜、令我不復渴、亦無庸頻來汲水。』

信我的人就如經上所說：「必有活水之江河，從他腹中流出。」』但這句話耶穌是指着聖靈說的，就是信他的人將要領受的；那時聖靈還沒有來，因為耶穌還沒有得榮耀。

耶穌對他們說：『我、就是生命的餅；來找我的、必定不餓；信我的、必定永遠不渴。

他們必不饑餓，不口渴，炎熱和烈日必不傷害他們，因為憐憫他們的、必率領他們，引導他們到水泉旁。

在基督裏、你們也成了業分；既已聽見真理之道、你們得救的福音、來信他，你們也就由所應許的聖靈蓋印；聖靈是我們得嗣業的質定，直等到做上帝產業的得贖放，使他的榮耀得稱讚。

他們必不再餓，也不再渴；日頭或一切炎熱必不燒着他們；

這就是從天上降下來的餅，不是像列祖喫過了、還死了那樣的；嚼這餅的必永遠活着。』

是他蓋印了我們，並先賜聖靈做質定在我們心裏。

凡活着而信我的人、必定永遠不死：你信這個麼？』

我們知道上帝的兒子已經來到，並且將理解的心給了我們，使我們認得出那「真實」者；我們也確是在那「真實」者裏面，在他兒子耶穌基督裏面：這就是真神；這就是真而永的生命。

因為罪的工價即是死，然而上帝的恩賜乃是永生、於我們的主基督耶穌裏。

別叫上帝的聖靈擔憂了；你們是受他的印記作質定、以待得贖放之日子的。

賊來無非是要偷竊，要宰殺，要殺滅；我來呢、乃是要使羊得生命，並且得的更充盈滿溢。

以致罪在死中怎樣掌了王權，恩典也可以藉着救人之義怎樣掌王權，使人藉着我們的主耶穌基督得永生。

正如你曾給他權柄管理一切血肉之人，使他可以將永生賜給你所給他的人。認識你獨一無二的真神、並且認識你所差遣的耶穌基督：這就是永生。

我要求父，他就必將另一位幫助者賜給你們，叫他永遠和你們同在；就是真理之靈、世人所不能領受的，因為看不見他，也不認識他；你們呢、卻認識他，因為他與你們同住，並且在你們裏面。『我必不撇下你們為孤兒；我必來找你們。還有一會兒、世人就不再見着我，你們卻見着我，因為我活着，你們也必活着。

聖靈自己、和我們的靈一同作證我們乃是上帝的兒女。既是兒女，便是後嗣：是上帝的後嗣，和基督同做後嗣，如果我們和他一同受苦、的話；那是要使我們也和他同得榮耀。

你們既因聽從真理而使心裏清潔，以致有親如弟兄之相愛而不假裝，就該從心裏彼此熱切地相愛。

這些人必往永世的刑罰裏去；那些義人呢、必往永世的生命裏去。」』
