信我的人，就如经上所说的，从他的腹中将要涌流出活水的江河。”耶稣这话是指着信他的人所要领受的圣灵而说的。当时，圣灵还没有临到，因为耶稣还没有得荣耀。

耶稣对他们说：“我就是生命的粮。到我这里来的人，绝不饥饿；信我的人，永不干渴。

他们既不饥饿也不口渴，炎热和太阳也不会伤害他们，因为那怜悯他们的必引领他们，带领他们到水泉旁边。

在基督里，你们也听从了真理的话语，就是那使你们得救的福音，并且信了基督，就蒙了所应许的圣灵为印记。圣灵是我们得继业的预付凭据，直到属神的子民得赎，归于他荣耀的称赞。

他们将不再饥饿，也不再干渴；太阳或任何炎热也不会伤到他们；

这才是从天上降下来的粮，不像吗哪。你们的祖先吃过吗哪还是死了，而吃这粮的人就将活着，直到永远。”

他又在我们身上盖了印，并且赐圣灵在我们心里做为预付凭据。

所有活着而信我的人绝不会死，直到永远。你信这话吗？”

我们也知道：神的儿子已经来了，并且把领悟的心赐给了我们，使我们能认识真实的那一位。我们在真实的那一位里面，也就是在他的儿子耶稣基督里面——这一位就是真神，就是永恒的生命。

因为罪的工价就是死；但神的恩赐，在我们的主基督耶稣里，却是永恒的生命。

不要让神的圣灵忧伤；你们蒙了他的印记，直到得赎的日子。

盗贼来，无非是要偷窃、宰杀、毁灭；而我来是要他们得生命，并且得的更丰盛。

这样，就像罪藉着死亡掌权，恩典也照样藉着义掌权，使人藉着我们的主耶稣基督进入永恒的生命。

正如你赐给他权柄管辖所有的人，好让他把永恒的生命给与一切你所赐给他的人。认识你——独一的真神，并认识你所差派的耶稣基督，这就是永恒的生命。

我也要向父祈求，他就将赐给你们另一位慰助者，让他与你们在一起，直到永远。他就是真理的灵，是世界不能接受的，因为世界看不到他，也不认识他。而你们认识他，因为他与你们同在，并且要在你们里面。我不会撇下你们为孤儿，我要回到你们这里来。“再过一会儿，世人不再看到我了，而你们将看到我。因为我活着，你们也将活着。

圣灵亲自与我们的灵一同作证：我们是神的儿女。既然是儿女，也就是继承人；如果我们真是为了与他一同得荣耀而与他一同受苦，我们就是神的继承人，而且与基督同做继承人。

你们既然藉着顺从真理，使自己的灵魂纯洁，以致有了不虚假的弟兄之爱，就应当以洁净的心，彼此热切地相爱。

“结果这些人将离去，进入永远的刑罚。然而，义人将进入永恒的生命。”
