婦曰：『先生盍以此水見賜、令我不復渴、亦無庸頻來汲水。』

正如聖經所言，信我的人，『從他裡面要流出活水的江河來』。」耶穌這話是指信祂的人要得到聖靈，但當時聖靈還沒有降臨，因為耶穌還沒有得到榮耀。

耶穌說：「我就是生命的糧，到我這裡來的人必定不餓，信我的人必永遠不渴。

他們不再饑渴，也不再被熱風和烈日灼傷，因為憐憫他們的那位必引導他們，領他們到泉水邊。

你們聽過真理之道，就是那使你們得救的福音，而且也信了基督。你們既然信祂，就領受了上帝應許賜下的聖靈為印記。聖靈是我們領受產業的擔保，直到上帝的子民得到救贖，使祂的榮耀受到頌讚。

他們不會再受饑餓和乾渴的折磨，也不會再受太陽和酷熱的煎熬，

我是從天上降下來的真糧，吃這糧的人必永遠活著，不像你們的祖先，雖然吃過嗎哪，最後還是死了。」

在我們身上蓋了祂自己的印記，並讓聖靈住在我們心中作擔保。

凡活著信我的人必永遠不死。你相信嗎？」

我們知道上帝的兒子已經來了，並且賜給了我們悟性，使我們能認識真神。我們在真神裡面，就是在祂兒子耶穌基督裡面。祂是真神，也是永生。

因為罪的代價就是死亡，而上帝藉著主基督耶穌賜下的禮物則是永生。

不要讓上帝的聖靈擔憂，你們已經蓋上了聖靈的印記，將來必蒙救贖。

盜賊來，無非是要偷竊、殺害、毀壞。但我來是要羊得生命，並且得到豐盛的生命。

罪怎樣掌權帶來死亡，恩典也照樣藉著義掌權，為要藉著我們主耶穌基督帶來永生。

因為你把管理世人的權柄賜給了祂，使祂可以將永生賜予你交託給祂的人。這永生就是，認識你——獨一的真神，並且認識你所差來的耶穌基督。

我要求父另外賜一位護慰者給你們，祂要永遠和你們同在。祂是真理的靈，世人不接受祂，因為他們看不見祂，也不認識祂；但你們卻認識祂，因祂常與你們同在，並且要住在你們裡面。我不會撇下你們為孤兒，我必到你們這裡來。不久，世人就看不見我了，而你們卻能看見我，因為我活著，你們也要活著。

聖靈親自與我們的心一同見證我們是上帝的兒女。既然我們是兒女，就是繼承人，是上帝的後嗣，並且與基督同作後嗣。所以，如果現在我們和基督一同受苦，將來也必和祂一同得榮耀。

你們既因順服真理，潔淨了自己的心，能夠真誠地愛弟兄姊妹，就當以清潔的心彼此切實相愛。

這些人要受永遠的刑罰，但義人要得到永遠的生命。」
