Do not be amazed that I said to you,‘ You must be born again.’

You should not be surprised at my saying,‘ You must be born again.’

Jesus responded and said to him,“ Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to rid yourselves of the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,and that you are to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,and to put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

He spoke another parable to them:“ The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three sata of flour until it was all leavened.”All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables, and He did not speak anything to them without a parable.This was so that what was spoken through the prophet would be fulfilled:“ I will open My mouth in parables; I will proclaim things hidden since the foundation of the world.”

Do not be amazed at this; for a time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,

Since you have purified your souls in obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brothers and sisters, fervently love one another from the heart,

Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with great patience objects of wrath prepared for destruction?And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon objects of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory,namely us, whom He also called, not only from among Jews, but also from among Gentiles,as He also says in Hosea:“ I will call those who were not My people,‘ My people,’ And her who was not beloved,‘ beloved.’ ”

What is man, that he would be pure, Or he who is born of a woman, that he would be righteous?

Pursue peace with all people, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

But Jesus, aware that His disciples were complaining about this, said to them,“ Is this offensive to you?What then if you see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before?It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh provides no benefit; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit, and are life.

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance,but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior;because it is written:“ You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin;as it is written:“ There is no righteous person, not even one;There is no one who understands, There is no one who seeks out God;They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, There is not even one.”“ Their throat is an open grave, With their tongues they keep deceiving,”“ The venom of asps is under their lips”;“ Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness”;“ Their feet are swift to shed blood,Destruction and misery are in their paths,And they have not known the way of peace.”“ There is no fear of God before their eyes.”Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God;
