What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

People give birth to people. But the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.

Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit.

That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit.

But I say, live by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.For the flesh has desires that are opposed to the Spirit, and the Spirit has desires that are opposed to the flesh, for these are in opposition to each other, so that you cannot do what you want.But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, depravity,idolatry, sorcery, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish rivalries, dissensions, factions,envying, murder, drunkenness, carousing, and similar things. I am warning you, as I had warned you before: Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God!

so that the righteous requirement of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit.For the outlook of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace,because the outlook of the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to the law of God, nor is it able to do so.Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him.

I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the heart of stone from your body and give you a heart of flesh.I will put my Spirit within you; I will take the initiative and you will obey my statutes and carefully observe my regulations.

So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away– look, what is new has come!

But the one united with the Lord is one spirit with him.

I will give them one heart and I will put a new spirit within them; I will remove the hearts of stone from their bodies and I will give them tender hearts,so that they may follow my statutes and observe my regulations and carry them out. Then they will be my people, and I will be their God.

How then can a human being be righteous before God? How can one born of a woman be pure?

Who can make a clean thing come from an unclean? No one!

( for if you live according to the flesh, you will die), but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.

among whom all of us also formerly lived out our lives in the cravings of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath even as the rest…

The first man is from the earth, made of dust; the second man is from heaven.Like the one made of dust, so too are those made of dust, and like the one from heaven, so too those who are heavenly.And just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, let us also bear the image of the man of heaven.Now this is what I am saying, brothers and sisters: Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

God saw the earth, and indeed it was ruined, for all living creatures on the earth were sinful.

In him you also were circumcised– not, however, with a circumcision performed by human hands, but by the removal of the fleshly body, that is, through the circumcision done by Christ.

For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For I want to do the good, but I cannot do it.

– children not born by human parents or by human desire or a husband’s decision, but by God.

Everyone who has been fathered by God does not practice sin, because God’s seed resides in him, and thus he is not able to sin, because he has been fathered by God.

Create for me a pure heart, O God! Renew a resolute spirit within me!

Now those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful desires, aroused by the law, were active in the members of our body to bear fruit for death.

When Adam had lived 130 years he fathered a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and he named him Seth.

But the LORD saw that the wickedness of humankind had become great on the earth. Every inclination of the thoughts of their minds was only evil all the time.

What is man that he should be pure, or one born of woman, that he should be righteous?If God places no trust in his holy ones, if even the heavens are not pure in his eyes,how much less man, who is abominable and corrupt, who drinks in evil like water!
