He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him.

“ I have many things to say and to judge about you, but the One who sent Me is true, and what I have heard from Him— these things I tell the world.”

The one who has accepted His testimony has affirmed that God is true.

Why was no one there when I came? Why was there no one to answer when I called? Is My hand too short to redeem? Or do I have no power to deliver? Look, I dry up the sea by My rebuke; I turn the rivers into a wilderness; their fish rot because of lack of water and die of thirst.

So they came to John and told him,“ Rabbi, the One you testified about, and who was with you across the Jordan, is baptizing— and everyone is flocking to Him.”

Who has believed what we have heard? And who has the arm of the Lord been revealed to?

For the Father loves the Son and shows Him everything He is doing, and He will show Him greater works than these so that you will be amazed.

But all did not obey the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our message?So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.But I ask,“ Did they not hear?” Yes, they did: Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the inhabited world.But I ask,“ Did Israel not understand?” First, Moses said: I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that lacks understanding.And Isaiah says boldly: I was found by those who were not looking for Me; I revealed Myself to those who were not asking for Me.But to Israel he says: All day long I have spread out My hands to a disobedient and defiant people.

God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or don’t you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah— how he pleads with God against Israel?Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars. I am the only one left, and they are trying to take my life!But what was God’s reply to him? I have left 7,000 men for Myself who have not bowed down to Baal.In the same way, then, there is also at the present time a remnant chosen by grace.Now if by grace, then it is not by works; otherwise grace ceases to be grace.
