“ There are those who rebel against the light; They do not know its ways Nor abide in its paths.The murderer rises with the light; He kills the poor and needy; And in the night he is like a thief.The eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight, Saying,‘ No eye will see me’; And he disguises his face.In the dark they break into houses Which they marked for themselves in the daytime; They do not know the light.For the morning is the same to them as the shadow of death; If someone recognizes them, They are in the terrors of the shadow of death.

But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.

They hate the one who rebukes in the gate, And they abhor the one who speaks uprightly.Therefore, because you tread down the poor And take grain taxes from him, Though you have built houses of hewn stone, Yet you shall not dwell in them; You have planted pleasant vineyards, But you shall not drink wine from them.

Seeing you hate instruction And cast My words behind you?

So the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat,“ There is still one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the Lord; but I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.” And Jehoshaphat said,“ Let not the king say such things!”

Then one of the lawyers answered and said to Him,“ Teacher, by saying these things You reproach us also.”

And say:“ How I have hated instruction, And my heart despised correction!

A scoffer does not love one who corrects him, Nor will he go to the wise.
