For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, so that his deeds will not be exposed.

凡作恶的便恨光，并不来就光，恐怕他的行为受责备。

凡作恶的人都恨恶光，不来接近光，恐怕他的行为被暴露。

作恶的人恨光，不肯接近光，恐怕他们的罪行暴露出来。

事实上，所有作恶的人，都憎恨光，不来到光那里，免得自己的行为被揭露出来；

Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.

Everyone who does evil deeds hates the light. They will not come into the light. They are afraid that what they do will be seen.

For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.

All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed.

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an active doer, this person will be blessed in what he does.

“ Others have been with those who rebel against the light; They do not want to know its ways Nor stay in its paths.The murderer arises at dawn; He kills the poor and the needy, And at night he is like a thief.The eye of the adulterer watches for twilight, Saying,‘ No eye will see me.’ And he disguises his face.In the darkness they dig into houses, They shut themselves up by day; They do not know the light.For the morning is the same to him as thick darkness, For he is familiar with the terrors of thick darkness.

But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn That shines brighter and brighter until the full day.

They hate him who rebukes in the gate, And they despise him who speaks with integrity.Therefore because you impose heavy rent on the poor And take a tribute of grain from them, Though you have built houses of cut stone, Yet you will not live in them; You have planted beautiful vineyards, yet you will not drink their wine.

For you yourself hate discipline, And you throw My words behind you.

And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat,“ There is still one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord, but I hate him, because he does not prophesy anything good regarding me, but only bad. He is Micaiah the son of Imlah.” But Jehoshaphat said,“ May the king not say so.”

One of the lawyers* said to Him in reply,“ Teacher, when You say these things, You insult us too.”

And you say,“ How I hated instruction! And my heart disdainfully rejected rebuke!

A scoffer does not love one who rebukes him; He will not go to the wise.
