暮夜來謁耶穌曰：『夫子吾人深知子之來教誨也、乃奉天主之聖命、蓋子所行之靈蹟、苟非天主所輔佑、其孰能行之？』

He came to Jesus at night and said,“ Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

After dark one evening, he came to speak with Jesus.“ Rabbi,” he said,“ we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you.”

爾曹又知天主以聖神、以才能、膏拿撒勒耶穌、耶穌周遊行善、醫愈凡為魔所制服者、蓋天主偕之也、

然我有證大於約翰者、蓋父所賜我以成之事、即我所行之事、此事證我為父所遣者、

法利賽人中有曰、其人不守安息日、必非由天主者、有曰、罪人焉能行如此之異跡乎、於是眾論紛紛、

其人答曰、異哉此事、彼明我目、而爾不知其何自、我儕知天主不聽罪人、惟欽崇天主、而遵行其旨者、天主則聽之、亙古以來、未聞有人能明生而瞽者之目、此人若非由天主、則無所能為也、

此二人、將何以處之、彼顯行異跡、耶路撒冷居民悉知之、我儕亦不能言其無也、惟恐此事益播於民間、當恐喝之、俾毋再以斯名訓人、

於是祭司諸長、及法利賽人、召集公會、議曰、此人多行異跡、我儕何以處之、若縱其如此、眾必信之、則羅瑪人必至奪我土地、擄我人民、

遂遣其徒、同希律黨、就之曰、師、我儕知爾乃真者、以真傳天主道、爾不顧人議、蓋爾不以貌取人、

民多信之、曰、基督來時、將行異跡、豈多於此人所行者乎、

耶穌雖行異跡於眾前若此之多、眾猶不之信、

耶穌回顧、見彼從於後、問之曰、爾何求、對曰、拉比何居、拉比、譯即我師也、

耶穌曰、瑪利亞、瑪利亞顧曰、拉波尼、譯即吾師、

來就約翰曰、拉比、昔偕爾在約但外、爾所證者、今施洗而眾就之、

然有司中多有信之、惟因懼法利賽人、不敢明認、恐見逐於會、蓋喜人之榮、過於天主之榮也、

若我在其中、不行他人所未行之事、則其人無罪、今已見之、且惡我及我父、

基甸簡僕十人、遵主命而行、但懼父家與邑人、不敢晝行此事、乃夜行之、

中有尼哥底母、即曾夜就耶穌者、謂法利賽人曰、未究詰人、不識其所為、我律法豈罪之乎、

悅義而心存我法之人、當聽我言、毋畏人之譏誚、毋因人之毀謗而喪膽、

此後有亞利瑪太人約瑟、求彼拉多、欲取耶穌之身、彼拉多許之、約瑟遂往、取耶穌之身、約瑟亦耶穌之門徒、但恆自隱諱、因懼猶太人故也、又有尼哥底母、即曾夜間就耶穌者、攜沒藥和沈香、約百斤至、

就耶穌曰、師、我儕知爾乃真者、不顧人議、不以貌取人、乃以真傳天主道者、納稅於該撒、宜否、納乎、抑不納乎、

信主之兄弟多人、因我之縲絏增加其信、益毅然傳道而無懼、
