This man came to him at night and said,“ Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one could perform these signs you do unless God were with him.”

He came to Jesus at night and said,“ Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

After dark one evening, he came to speak with Jesus.“ Rabbi,” he said,“ we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you.”

“ Fellow Israelites, listen to these words: This Jesus of Nazareth was a man attested to you by God with miracles, wonders, and signs that God did among you through him, just as you yourselves know.

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how he went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the devil, because God was with him.

“ But I have a greater testimony than John’s because of the works that the Father has given me to accomplish. These very works I am doing testify about me that the Father has sent me.

Some of the Pharisees said,“ This man is not from God, because he doesn’t keep the Sabbath.” But others were saying,“ How can a sinful man perform such signs?” And there was a division among them.

“ This is an amazing thing!” the man told them.“ You don’t know where he is from, and yet he opened my eyes.We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but if anyone is God-fearing and does his will, he listens to him.Throughout history no one has ever heard of someone opening the eyes of a person born blind.If this man were not from God, he wouldn’t be able to do anything.”

saying,“ What should we do with these men? For an obvious sign has been done through them, clear to everyone living in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.But so that this does not spread any further among the people, let’s threaten them against speaking to anyone in this name again.”

So the chief priests and the Pharisees convened the Sanhedrin and were saying,“ What are we going to do since this man is doing many signs?If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”

So they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we know that you are truthful and teach truthfully the way of God. You don’t care what anyone thinks nor do you show partiality.

However, many from the crowd believed in him and said,“ When the Messiah comes, he won’t perform more signs than this man has done, will he?”

Even though he had performed so many signs in their presence, they did not believe in him.

When Jesus turned and noticed them following him, he asked them,“ What are you looking for?” They said to him,“ Rabbi”( which means“ Teacher”),“ where are you staying?”

Jesus said to her,“ Mary.” Turning around, she said to him in Aramaic,“ Rabboni!”— which means“ Teacher.”

So they came to John and told him,“ Rabbi, the one you testified about, and who was with you across the Jordan, is baptizing— and everyone is going to him.”

Nevertheless, many did believe in him even among the rulers, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, so that they would not be banned from the synagogue.For they loved human praise more than praise from God.

If I had not done the works among them that no one else has done, they would not be guilty of sin. Now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.

So Gideon took ten of his male servants and did as the LORD had told him. But because he was too afraid of his father’s family and the men of the city to do it in the daytime, he did it at night.

Nicodemus— the one who came to him previously and who was one of them— said to them,“ Our law doesn’t judge a man before it hears from him and knows what he’s doing, does it?”

Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my instruction: do not fear disgrace by men, and do not be shattered by their taunts.

After this, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus— but secretly because of his fear of the Jews— asked Pilate that he might remove Jesus’s body. Pilate gave him permission; so he came and took his body away.Nicodemus( who had previously come to him at night) also came, bringing a mixture of about seventy-five pounds of myrrh and aloes.

When they came, they said to him,“ Teacher, we know you are truthful and don’t care what anyone thinks, nor do you show partiality but teach the way of God truthfully. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not? Should we pay or shouldn’t we?”

Most of the brothers have gained confidence in the Lord from my imprisonment and dare even more to speak the word fearlessly.
