I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?

I have spoken to you about earthly things, and you do not believe. So how will you believe if I speak about heavenly things?

If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

But if you don’t believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things?

兄弟乎、余教爾曹、非感聖神之人、乃狥私欲之人、以爾曹雖宗基督、渺如孩提、我哺爾以乳、不以糧者、因素未能食、今亦未能也、

當去諸暴戾、詭譎、偽善、媢嫉、毀謗、如孩提初生索乳、宜求真道、使爾漸長、蒙主恩者咸若是、

諭此人、我有無數言詞、難以剖析、因爾聽之懵然故也、

所言者、上帝秘奧之智、古昔上帝所預定榮我者、斯智也、今世有司不知、知則不以榮光之主釘十字架矣、經云、上帝為愛之者所備之事、目未見、耳未聞、心未念、

敬主之道、至大至妙、無不以為然、上帝假人身而顯著、稱義於聖神、見於天使、聞於異邦、信於天下、而躋光明之域、

人未有升天者、惟人子由天而降、依然在天、○昔摩西舉蛇於野、人子見舉亦然、使信之者免沉淪而得永生、○蓋上帝以獨生之子賜世、俾信之者免沉淪而得永生、其愛世如此、且上帝遣子臨世、非以罪世、乃以救世、○

風任意而吹、聽其聲、不知何來何往、由聖神生者亦若是、

自上臨者、萬有之上、由地則屬地、所言亦地、由天臨者、萬有之上也、自證其所見所聞、而無人受其證、受其證者、以上帝為真、印以證之、上帝所遣者、述上帝言、蓋上帝賜之聖神、無限量也、天父愛子、以萬物予之、信子者永生、不信子者不生、上帝怒恆在其上矣、

耶穌曰、我誠告爾、人非更生、不能見上帝國、

耶穌曰、我誠告爾、人不以水以聖神而生、不能進上帝國、

非我愛上帝、乃上帝愛我、遣子代我罪、為挽回之祭、愛之實在此矣、

元始有道、道與上帝共在、道即上帝、是道、元始與上帝共在也、萬物以道而造、凡受造者、無不以之而造、生在道中、生也者、人之光、光照於暗、暗者弗識之、○有上帝所遣者名約翰、其至為光作證、使眾以之而信、約翰非光、特為光證耳、真光者、臨世照萬人者也、其在世、世以之而創、世不識之、其至己地、人不受之、受即信其名者、賜之權、為上帝子、是非由血氣、非由情欲、非由人意而生、乃由上帝也、夫道成人身、居於我儕之間、我儕見其榮、誠天父獨生子之榮、以恩寵真理而滿也、○
