I have spoken to you about earthly things, and you do not believe. So how will you believe if I speak about heavenly things?

我言屬地者、爾尚弗信、若言屬天者、爾詎信乎、

我言地、爾既弗信、況言天、爾豈能信乎、

我言屬地之事、爾尚不信、若言屬天之事、何能信乎、

吾語汝以地上之事、汝猶未信、若語汝以天上之事、又如何能信。

I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?

If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

But if you don’t believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things?

If I have told you about earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?

If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

If I told you earthly things and ye believe not, how shall ye believe if I tell you heavenly things?

If I have told you about things that happen on earth and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you about things of heaven?

If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you[ of] heavenly things?

If I have told you people about earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?

If I told you earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

Brothers and sisters, I couldn’t speak to you as people who live by the Holy Spirit. I had to speak to you as people who were still following the ways of the world. You aren’t growing as Christ wants you to. You are still like babies.The words I spoke to you were like milk, not like solid food. You weren’t ready for solid food yet. And you still aren’t ready for it.

So get rid of every kind of evil, and stop telling lies. Don’t pretend to be something you are not. Stop wanting what others have, and don’t speak against one another.Like newborn babies, you should long for the pure milk of God’s word. It will help you grow up as believers.You can do this now that you have tasted how good the Lord is.

We have a lot to say about this. But it is hard to make it clear to you. That’s because you are no longer trying to understand.

No, we announce God’s wisdom. His wisdom is a mystery that has been hidden. But before time began, God planned that his wisdom would bring us heavenly glory.None of the rulers of this world understood God’s wisdom. If they had, they would not have nailed the Lord of glory to the cross.It is written that“ no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human mind has known.”( Isaiah 64:4) God has prepared these things for those who love him.

There is no doubt that true godliness comes from this great mystery. Jesus came as a human being. The Holy Spirit proved that he was the Son of God. He was seen by angels. He was preached among the nations. People in the world believed in him. He was taken up to heaven in glory.

No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven. He is the Son of Man.Moses lifted up the snake in the desert. In the same way, the Son of Man must also be lifted up.Then everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world. He sent his Son to save the world through him.

The wind blows where it wants to. You hear the sound it makes. But you can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going. It is the same with everyone who is born with the Spirit.”

“ The one who comes from above is above everything. The one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks like someone from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above everything.He is a witness to what he has seen and heard. But no one accepts what he says.Anyone who has accepted it has said,‘ Yes. God is truthful.’The one whom God has sent speaks God’s words. That’s because God gives the Holy Spirit without limit.The Father loves the Son and has put everything into his hands.Anyone who believes in the Son has eternal life. Anyone who does not believe in the Son will not have life. God’s anger remains on them.”

Jesus replied,“ What I’m about to tell you is true. No one can see God’s kingdom unless they are born again.”

Jesus answered,“ What I’m about to tell you is true. No one can enter God’s kingdom unless they are born with water and the Holy Spirit.

Here is what love is. It is not that we loved God. It is that he loved us and sent his Son to give his life to pay for our sins.

In the beginning, the Word was already there. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.He was with God in the beginning.All things were made through him. Nothing that has been made was made without him.Life was in him, and that life was the light for all people.The light shines in the darkness. But the darkness has not overcome the light.There was a man sent from God. His name was John.He came to be a witness about that light. He was a witness so that all people might believe.John himself was not the light. He came only as a witness to the light.The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.The Word was in the world. And the world was made through him. But the world did not recognize him.He came to what was his own. But his own people did not accept him.Some people did accept him and did believe in his name. He gave them the right to become children of God.To be a child of God has nothing to do with human parents. Children of God are not born because of human choice or because a husband wants them to be born. They are born because of what God does.The Word became a human being. He made his home with us. We have seen his glory. It is the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father. And the Word was full of grace and truth.
